Cheeky Riser Rifle Stock Pack Review: Comfort and Stability

When it comes to precision shooting, the smallest details can make the biggest difference. A consistent cheek weld is crucial for accuracy, and the Cheeky Riser rifle stock pack from Mystery Ranch aims to deliver just that. This review dives into the design, comfort, and stability of this innovative accessory, helping you decide if it's the right addition to your shooting gear.

Mystery Ranch is known for their rugged backpacks and field-tested gear, but the Cheeky Riser shows they understand the needs of hunters and shooters too. Whether you're behind a rifle on the range or in the backcountry, this stock pack promises to improve your shooting experience. Let's see how it performs.

Design and Build Quality

The Cheeky Riser is constructed with the same durable materials you'd expect from Mystery Ranch. The exterior is a tough, weather-resistant fabric that can handle rough conditions, while the interior padding is dense enough to provide a solid cheek weld without being overly bulky. The pack attaches securely to your rifle stock with adjustable straps, ensuring it stays in place even during active use.

One of the standout features is the integrated storage. The Cheeky Riser includes a zippered compartment that's perfect for carrying small essentials like a range card, ear plugs, or a multi-tool. This adds practicality without adding unnecessary weight or bulk to your rifle.

• Durable, weather-resistant exterior
• Adjustable straps for a secure fit
• Zippered storage compartment for small gear

Comfort and Cheek Weld

The primary purpose of a cheek riser is to improve your cheek weld, and the Cheeky Riser excels in this area. The padding is firm yet comfortable, providing a consistent reference point for your cheek. This is especially beneficial for shooters using scopes with a high mount or those with longer necks who struggle to get a proper cheek weld.

I tested the Cheeky Riser on a variety of rifles, from bolt-action hunting rifles to AR-style platforms. In every case, it improved my ability to get a consistent cheek weld, which translated to better accuracy and faster target acquisition. The added height is just right, not too high or too low, making it a versatile option for most shooters.

• Firm, comfortable padding for consistent cheek weld
• Ideal for high-mounted scopes or shooters with longer necks
• Works well on both bolt-action and AR-style rifles

Stability and Field Performance

Stability is key when shooting from unconventional positions, and the Cheeky Riser helps in that regard. By providing a secure and comfortable cheek weld, it allows you to maintain a stable shooting platform, whether you're prone, kneeling, or shooting off a tripod. This is particularly useful for hunters who often find themselves in awkward positions in the field.

During a recent hunting trip, I paired the Cheeky Riser with my favorite Beartooth 85 pack for a backcountry hunt. The combination was fantastic. The stock pack kept my cheek weld consistent even when I was breathing hard after a steep climb, and the storage compartment was handy for keeping a small range card and a compass. The Cheeky Riser proved to be a reliable companion in demanding conditions.

• Enhances stability in prone, kneeling, and tripod positions
• Field-tested in backcountry hunting scenarios
• Pairs well with Mystery Ranch packs like the Beartooth 85

Versatility and Compatibility

The Cheeky Riser is designed to fit most rifle stocks, thanks to its adjustable straps and flexible design. It can be quickly installed or removed without any tools, making it easy to switch between rifles or share with a shooting buddy. This versatility makes it a great investment for anyone who owns multiple firearms.

If you're looking to upgrade your shooting setup, the Cheeky Riser is a smart addition. It's also a great gift for the shooter in your life. For a complete package, consider pairing it with other Mystery Ranch gear like the Hotshot pack for range days or the Rip Ruck 24 for a tactical approach. These packs offer ample storage for your shooting essentials, complementing the Cheeky Riser perfectly.

• Universal fit with adjustable straps
• Tool-free installation and removal
• Pairs well with Mystery Ranch packs like the Hotshot and Rip Ruck 24

The Cheeky Riser rifle stock pack from Mystery Ranch is a well-crafted accessory that delivers on its promise of comfort and stability. Its durable construction, excellent cheek weld, and practical storage make it a must-have for shooters and hunters alike. If you're looking to improve your accuracy and shooting experience, the Cheeky Riser is definitely worth considering.
